The Winnipeg Jets got an earful from fans last night while leaving the ice following a loss to the Ottawa Senators. It was the Jets sixth loss in a row.

As reported by the Winnipeg Sun, The Winnipeg Jets were booed off the ice last night following their sixth straight loss. Not only are the Jets slumping at the worst possible time, they couldn't beat a team that's nowhere near them in the standings.

"A chorus of boos rained down from the sold-out downtown barn as the Winnipeg Jets vacated the ice.

Another loss, their season-long sixth in a row, to fall to 44-24-6. And this time it wasn't to the defending Stanley Cup champs or the Connor McDavid-led Edmonton Oilers.

Not on this night against an Ottawa Senators team that came into the game riding a four-game winning streak and still 13 points from the nearest playoff spot."

It was just a few months ago that the Winnipeg Jets moved to the top of the Central Division. Now, the team is is in third, and very much in trouble of dropping out of a playoff spot if they aren't careful. Perhaps the only silver lining for the team at the moment is there are fewer than 10 games left in the 2023-24 regular season.

It's also very unfortunate that the Winnipeg Jets couldn't pull out a win as as goaltender Connor Hellebuyck achieved a new amazing milestone. It was the 500th game of his NHL career.

With eight games to go in 2023-24, the Winnipeg Jets desperately need to find a way to get it together and gets some wins. This is not the way a team wants to go into the post season, limping along as opponents come in with momentum. A quick exit is the usual result. Head coach Rick Bowness needs to keep his players from getting too down on themselves, while also ensuring they are putting in the work needed to get the job done.
