After tonight's game against the Anaheim Ducks 6-1, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid stunned fans with his remarks on taking the point-scoring lead.

Connor McDavid is often considered one of the best NHLers ever to grace the ice. In tonight's game, he gave fans an even bigger reason to believe this, as he climbed back to the top in points scored this season.
"There's a new League leader in points!

Connor McDavid's (@cmcdavid97) third point of the game gives him 125 on the season! 🤯"
McDavid is now on his fourth consecutive season with more than 100 points but this achievement has not stopped him from focusing on the game at hand. While many might expect this caliber of player to gloat or spend some time celebrating, McDavid essentially shrugged the feat off, recognizing there is more work to be done if the team wants the chance at the Stanley Cup.
"When asked by @DerekVanDiest about @nhl scoring race "We're playing for things bigger than that." @cmcdavid97"

Though the point lead was temporary, Connor McDavid still has a clear shot at the Art Ross trophy.

Though this was an astounding achievement, the rankings did not stay long as Nathan MacKinnon took the point lead back with two goals and assists each in tonight's game between the Colorado Avalanche and Nashville Predators.
With this development, three players are at 125+ points, making the race for the Art Ross trophy very tight. At this rate, it will likely go to Mackinnon, McDavid, or Kucherov.
Though McDavid is back to second in the league, he still has plenty of scoring opportunities left in the regular season. With his clear dedication, his shot is still wide open.
