Oilers struggle early as Corey Perry calls for accountability

The Edmonton Oilers have dropped their first two games of the season, giving up a combined 11 goals, six to the Winnipeg Jets and five to the Chicago Blackhawks. After the loss to Chicago, Perry called out the team, saying their play was sluggish and unaccountable.
Perry did manage to net the Oilers first goal of the season on Saturday in their 5-2 loss to Chicago, after they were shutout 6-0 by the Jets on Wednesday.
Yet the Oilers' performance fell flat. Even with Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins helping on the power play, the offense has been stifled and Perry didn't hold back in his postgame comments.
You can make all the excuses in the world, whatever you want to say. Everybody's gotta look themselves in the mirror & start to bear down.
It's hard to watch because, on paper, the Oilers have weapons like Perry, McDavid, Leon Draisaitl who scored a power play goal and now Viktor Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner. The offense should be a juggernaut and still can be, but they've been dormant thus far.
Fans are left wondering if they can turn things around as they did last year, rallying from 2-9-1 start and an 0-3 series deficit going to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final before falling to the Florida Panthers.
It feels like déjà vu another slow start, more questions than answers, and a lot of pressure building. Hopefully, they can figure things out soon and not rely on a 16 game winning streak as they did last regular season to catapult them into the playoff picture.
