The St. Louis Blues have announced the departure of Head Coach Craig Berube.

"BREAKING NEWS: Craig Berube has been relieved of his coaching duties and a new interim coach has been named. #stlblues "

Berube, who was in his sixth season with the Blues, leaves with a season record of 13-14-1.

Drew Bannister, previously with the Blues' AHL affiliate in Springfield, steps in as the interim Head Coach.

In his tenure, Berube led the team to notable success, including a Stanley Cup win in his first year. The team made three additional playoff appearances under his guidance but fell short last season, finishing 12th in the Western Conference. The Blues currently stand just a point behind the Arizona Coyotes in the playoff race.

More to come.
