For some NHL fans, the first ever meeting between Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers and Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks is a big deal. For McDavid, it's another day at the office.
With the Oilers and Blackhawks playing tonight, McDavid, widely regarded as the current best player in the league, will face off with Bedard, the assumed best player of the future, for the first time. Asked what advice McDavid had for Bedard as he finds his way in the league, McDavid said he's getting tired of being asked that question.
Regardless of how McDavid feels about this meeting, it's being hyped on social media as the present against the future. McDavid is right, Bedard seems to be having little trouble finding his footing in the NHL. He currently has 11 goals and 23 points in 27 games on a team with very little in the way of offense other than Bedard.
