Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman believes it makes a lot of sense for Carolina Hurricanes GM Don Waddell to be speaking with Kane's agent.
"We're talking about where he could end up, I'm wondering if Carolina is in on this."
Carolina Hurricanes Another Team Looking at Signing Patrick Kane
Waddell currently has just under $2 million in cap space to work with. Probably not enough, unless Kane could be lured in by Carolina's chances at winning a Stanley Cup. Analysts, and Waddell himself, believe the Canes have a chance of going deep. Adding Kane just means more depth on an already pretty stacked lineup.
