Schmidt's Roster Spot At Risk

Recently, a report from The Athletic revealed that Winnipeg Jets defenseman Nate Schmidt is at risk of losing his role on the team.




Schmidt, 32 years old, is currently in his third season with the Jets. He started out playing middle pairing minutes in his first season and has decreased to less than 17 minutes a night this season.

If the Winnipeg Jets were to trade for another defenseman, Schmidt could see his way out of the lineup being bumped down to the AHL.

There are many options available on the market and assuming the Jets land one, this could be the end to Nate Schmidt's time in Winnipeg.
