After an almost perfect training camp with the Winnipeg Jets, teammates are now reacting to the injury to defenceman Ville Heinola. Jets head coach Rick Bowness has already said the injury is 'not good' and 'not short term'.

The Collision

Heinola was in the corner during a game against the Ottawa Senators last night when he collided with the Sens Erik Brannstrom. It looked completely minor until Heinola started yelling in pain.

The Aftermath

Heinola could be seen on camera heading down the tunnel as soon as he could manage to get off the ice. He needed two people to help him to the dressing room.

Brutal

Teammate Brenden Dillon told reporters he feels "brutal" for Heinola.
"You can't change what's happened. A lot of us have gone through injuries. That's kind of the unfortunate thing about sport. That's the risk that can happen. You just kinda gotta focus on the next day. Keep as positive an outlook as you can.

He knows we're all here for him, he knows we're rooting for him. For him, he's just gotta get healthy first and foremost, and however long that takes, just try to get back to the level he can get to." - Brenden Dillon

Winnipeg has said there may be a further update on Heinola's condition today.
