The Winnipeg Jets shared unfortunate news regarding one of their prospects.

Mack Morrison, coach of the Manitoba Moose, the Jets' AHL affiliate team, confirmed that Chaz Lucius is done for the season, as he'll undergo an ankle surgery.


"Some big news regarding #NHLJets F prospect Chaz Lucius, who is out for the rest of the season. Another tough injury for the 2021 first-rounder to work his way back from."

"Moose head coach Mark Morrison confirms today that Jets prospect Chaz Lucius to have season ending ankle surgery. "


Lucius, drafted 18th overall by the Jets in 2021 scored 13 points in 17 games with the Moose this season.

In the last four years, the player dealt with many major injuries to the knee, shoulder and the ankle.

He has shown a lot of resilience through this adversity and we truly wish him the best going forward into his rehabilitation process.
