A recent announcement involving the Panthers has shocked the hockey community, with Paul Maurice recently announcing a huge lineup change ahead of game 7

Tonight is going to bear one of the most tense games of hockey in a long time thanks to an amazing comeback from the Edmonton Oilers. With a 3-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Finals, The Panthers have the possibility of making history in the worst way possible. Losing the playoffs after such a huge lead is something that hasn't happened since 1942, which involved the Leafs.
Paul Maurice has made the decision to swap Cousins with Okposo, an interesting but risky play. This swap could be a game-changer in their bid to avoid a historical defeat. Earlier today, Maurice confirmed during a press conference,
"Okposo in for Cousins, per Maurice. No other lineup changes."
Okposo, a seasoned NHL veteran with 1051 games under his belt, will experience his first Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals tonight. Reflecting on this unique opportunity, Okposo shared a touching moment with his son earlier today:
"Kyle Okposo, drawing into Game 7: 'I grabbed my son today, who's eight, and said, 'You know what I was doing when I was your age? I was in the driveway with my Rollerblades on pretending I was in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. How special is it that you're going to the game?'"
Tensions are running extremely high as game 7 draws near, and it's truly anyone's game at this point. Tonights game will be making history whether the Panthers lose or not, the question is which team will be coming out in a better light. Winning or losing will scratch this game into their memories forever.
