The Edmonton Oilers have built up quite a fantastic squad in recent years, but after falling short in the playoffs again in 2022-23, it appears they're once again trying something new to spark the team.
That would be Connor Brown, who played in just 4 games a year ago due to injury, but when healthy, like he's expected to be this season, the team are waiting for a big breakout season.
Now, the folks at Oilers Nation have predicted Brown to have a breakout season, as he will likely be on their top line alongside Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman, but the question they've now posed is, can he score 30 goals on that top line?
Given the breakout performance of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins a year ago, as well as Brown's history as a goal scorer (a career high of 29, with three seasons over 20 in reduced roles), it's certainly possible.
With Brown on the top line, the Oilers are looking to lengthen their forward group, as they now look lethal up and down this squad, so if Brown can breakout the way many expect him too with the Oilers, they may just end up having too much firepower for anyone in the Western Conference to stop.
