Kassian Retires After 12 Successful Years in NHL

Zack Kassian has just announced that he has retired, as per the NHLPA via X.com. The former first-round draft pick played in 661 career NHL games and spent 7 seasons with the Edmonton Oilers.
To play in the NHL is one thing, but to make a 12-year career of it is pretty special
Kassian was well known for his hard checking and ability to stand up for himself and his teammates. He was no stranger to the penalty box, either, leading the Oilers in PIMs in 6 of the 7 seasons he was with the club.
We are excited to see what Kassian will do outside of hockey and wish him the best in his future endeavours!
