The Edmonton Oilers fell once again on Tuesday's Frozen Frenzy, this time by giving up seven goals to the Minnesota Wild, and now, they're looking to make some more changes.
With Connor McDavid remaining out for the foreseeable future, the team will need to fix things offensively, but giving up 27 goals in their seven games just doesn't cut it, so things need to be fixed all over the lineup.
Now, ahead of a crucial matchup with the very tough New York Rangers, they've once again decided to make some changes, but this time, those changes will take place on the heavily scrutinized blue line.
According to Oilers writer Jason Gregor, the switch will see Philip Broberg play alongside Mattias Ekholm, while Evan Bouchard will play alongside Brett Kulak as the team looks to slow down a red-hot Rangers team.
Ultimately, it may not matter which pairings and lines are sent out there, as something bigger may need to change to turn this year around, but for now, it's clear that the Oilers are trying to make things work.
