This season has been horrible for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and it started even before the first game with the whole Mike Babcock fiasco. As we draw closer to the middle of 2023-24, an Insider says the Blue Jackets are looking to blow things up.
According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, it's open season for Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen. He's willing to listen to offers on just about anyone, including stars like Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine.
While Gaudreau's name is bound to garner interest from other teams, it's not exactly an easy move to make. the 30-year-old is in year one of a seven year deal that pays him $9.75 million per season. Since scoring 115 points with the Calgary Flames, Gaudreau had 74 last season, and has 11 in 31 games in 2023-24.
