Two weeks ago, the Ottawa Senators traded Alex DeBrincat to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Dominik Kubalik, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional first-round pick in 2024, and a fourth-round pick of the same draft.
Dominik Kubalik, another player involved in the trade, shared his thoughts about moving to the Senators.
Kubalik had an impressive performance last season, scoring 20 goals. During his rookie season, he scored 30 goals. Like DeBrincat, Kubalik is entering his fifth NHL season and will now be playing for his third NHL team.
He was later asked if facing Canada, with D.J. Smith (current Sens head coach) as their assistant coach, during the World Championship could have influenced his move to Ottawa, considering he scored eight goals in the tournament.
