The Winnipeg Jets had a disappointing 2022-23 campaign, and after losing their long-time captain in Blake Wheeler, many expected them to move on from their other top stars, namely Mark Scheifele and Connor Hellebuyck.
According to Murat Ates of The Athletic, the trade market for those two has yet to come to fruition this off-season, and as a result, he believes the team could look to extend both of them.
The Jets may have disappointed last year, but with a massive haul for Pierre-Luc Dubois and the loss of Blake Wheeler, this team looks very different, and that could freshen them up for a big season.
However, both Scheifele and Hellebuyck are in the latter parts of their career, so it's unclear whether or not they would be interested in long-term deals, but right now, no trades are anywhere on the horizon for Winnipeg.
