Former Anaheim Ducks player Bobby Ryan is facing criticism after going on a social media rant against the NCAA women's basketball tournament for seemingly no reason.

The NCAA Women's Basketball March Madness has had resounding success this season with the storyline of arguably two of the greatest women's basketball players in Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese clashing in the Elite 8. The game was electric, with Clark posting 41 points in the win for Iowa.
The game also saw incredible success on television, with more than 12 million people tuning in to see the game. This success carried over to social media, with a number of personalities commenting on how popular the game was.
Former NHLer Bobby Ryan seemed to be upset by the success, though, for no reason. He took to social media to go on a rant about women's sport, spouting complete nonsense.
Meghan Chayka: "Why does it seem like everyone is watching women's basketball??

Oh because EVERYONE is watching."

Bobby Ryan: "Name 7 players. Not 1. Not 25-7. First and last names go for it."

The rant didn't stop there, with Ryan doubling down on numerous occasions. There was really no reason for him to dump on the success of the tournament, as he was seemingly tearing down something great happening in Women's March Madness.
Ryan hasn't been scared of sharing his opinion before, as he recently shared a scalding opinion on the Ottawa Senators Tim Stutzle.
Hopefully, he has some sense to think about the things he is saying before he posts them.
