He does have an 8-team NTC this year, so Calgary's options to deal him are limited. Despite that, it is obviously in their best interest to move the star defenseman for some return rather than have him walk away for nothing next year.
Hanifin has played 598 career games, with 49 goals and 190 assists for 239 points. At 26 years old, he should garner a ton of interest from teams around the league.
