Gary Bettman held a major press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of the All-Star Game. He mentioned many interesting topics, including the expansion plans.
Bettman Opens Up on Expansion Plans in Press Conference
Bettman confirmed that the NHL isn't currently pursuing expansion projects, but they've gotten interest from various cities.

Here's his full statement:
"Gary Bettman says there's no active pursuit of expansion, but beyond Utah, the league has received at least preliminary interest from Utah, Houston, Atlanta, Cincinnati (!) and Omaha (!!)."
Atlanta, Utah and Houston were involved in many rumours in the past years, but this is the first we hear from Omaha and Cincinnati.
This promises to be an interesting topic to follow in the coming months.
