The Winnipeg Jets have consistently been one of the better teams in the NHL this year. The team proved this again today as they overcame a three-goal deficit against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Winnipeg Jets Erase Three-Goal Deficit For Unlikely Comeback Win

The team visited the Carolina Hurricanes today. Carolina has been playing good hockey as of late, cementing their spot in 2nd place in the Metropolitan division. The team seemed poised to make up ground on the Rangers today as they took an early 3-0 lead against the Jets. The team carried this lead into the third period, all but guaranteeing the two points.
However, comebacks have become more common than ever this year and the Jets pulled off another unlikely one in the third period as they rattled off five unanswered goals.
The team was given a huge gift as Hurricanes netminder Pyotr Kochetkov made a huge mistake late in the period, essentially giftwrapping the go-ahead goal to Sean Monahan.
After the game, Jets head coach Rick Bowness discussed some important topics facing the team.

Bowness Gives Huge Update On Status Of Vilardi

Jets forward Gabe Vilardi missed the game with a recurring upper-body injury. He last played on February 29th against Dallas where he recorded just over 10 minutes of ice time in the 4-1 loss. Following today's game, head coach Rick Bowness revealed that he has left the team on their road trip to go back to Winnipeg for evaluation by the team doctors.
#NHLJets HC Rick Bowness says Cole Perfetti was a healthy scratch. Said it was a tough decision but it's a chance for him to reset. Bowness also said that Gabriel Vilardi has gone back to Winnipeg for further evaluation for the upper-body issue he has been dealing with lately.

Vilardi has been a major part of the Jets when he's been healthy this season. He has 16 goals and 30 points but has only gotten into 38 games due to repeated injury problems. Should he be out for an extended period of time, it would be a major loss for the team in the most critical time of the season. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates on his status in the coming days.
