Connor Bedard Speaks On His High Expectations
Connor Bedard will be coming into the NHL as the best prospect since Connor McDavid in 2015. This week Bedard got to rub elbows with McDavid and many other NHL stars during the Biosteel NHL Camp. During this camp, he had some interesting comments on his expectations for his rookie season.
Bedard Attends NHL's Biosteel Camp
Over the last few days, Connor Bedard has been seen training for the upcoming season with some of the NHL's best. During his time Bedard has gotten to work out and skate with a ton of top talents.
In his time around these stars, Bedard has been trying to make the most of learning as much as he can.
While Bedard is seen as a generational prospect he still seems to keep himself humble knowing that he has a ton to experience and learn for years to come.
Bedard Speaks About His Expectations For Upcoming Season
During the Biosteel camp, Bedard had an opportunity to speak with the media about his expectations for his first year in the NHL. Here is what he had to say:
Obviously [his stats are on] a different level. You never want to say 'Oh I can't do this.' I don't think that mindset is great. But I'm not him. I'm my own person and my own player. He's the pinnacle right now. You're like, 'This guy is the best...and how can I get closer to him?' That's such a great thing in sport: you're always competing against guys. For me to spend some time with him and be on the ice with him and try and compete with him, he's obviously unbelievable and you can barely talk about his stats because they're so ridiculous, but I'm trying to be my own player and be the best I can.
Bedard acknowledges that anything is possible while still giving credit to McDavid that he is the best player in the world. He also makes sure to mention he is focused on being the best version of himself.

With the work Bedard has been putting in this offseason and his incredible skillset it is hard not to imagine the incredible season he may have. For now, we wait patiently for opening day and the first time we get to see Connor Bedard in an NHL sweater.
