After replacing him in the lineup and scoring two goals and one assist last night against the Los Angeles Kings, Cole Perfetti proved that Tyler Toffoli's injury was the best thing for the Winnipeg Jets.

Newly acquired Jets center Tyler Toffoli has been rendered unavailable for practices and games. While unfortunate for this former Canadien, this left the door open for Cole Perfetti, who scored two goals and one assist against the Kings in last night's game.
"Cole Perfetti may not have even suited up tonight if not for Tyler Toffoli coming down with an illness.

He's got two goals and one assist now, including the game-winner if it stays this way."
Though not the only productive player on the team tonight, Cole Perfetti's second goal pushed the Winnipeg Jets over the edge, ultimately becoming game-winning against the Kings. This broke the team's six-game losing streak in a truly remarkable way.
"#NHLJets snap a six-game losing skid (0-5-1) with a 4-3 victory over #LAKings on Monday night. Cole Perfetti scores two goals and adds an assist. Josh Morrissey (1G, 2P) and Sean Monahan also score, while Kyle Connor had three assists. Laurent Brossoit finished with 25 saves."
After his success against the Kings last night, Jets head coach Rick Bowness praised Perfetti performance in a post-game interview. He suggests that we can expect to see more of him at the top of the roster sooner than later.
"I did tell him, when you get back in, we're gonna give you more time with the top-six. That's more his game, so he took full advantage of it... we put him in there and he did a great job tonight."
Cole Perfetti also had a chance to talk about the game himself. In this interview, he talks about how this successful time on the ice boosted his confidence in his ability to help his team again.
"It was huge for my confidence... really happy that I could contribute, and help, and get back into that. I missed that for a little bit. Just feels really good to get back and help this team win."
The Winnipeg Jets are currently eighth in the league overall. Their next game is against the Clagray Flames on Thursday.
