The Winnipeg Jets' young star Cole Perfetti will be a healthy-scratch tonight for the game against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Head coach Rick Bowness explained his decision in an interview.

Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness explains his decision to scratch Cole Perfetti from the lineup ahead of clash against the Vegas Golden Knights.

"Cole Perfetti, Rasmus Kupari and Gabriel Vilardi in red jerseys presumably as non-players this evening. "
In an interview, Bowness discussed Perfetti's situation. Here's what he said:
"I asked Rick Bowness about #NHLJets forward Cole Perfetti, who is a healthy scratch tonight vs. Vegas ⬇️

"He's handling it well, it's a tough situation for a young player. I told him our first year in Tampa there we sat Kucherov for a couple games, and look now"

"Listen, I feel for him, I get it. He wants to play. They all want to play. We can't keep everyone happy, it's impossible. Everyone wants to play 20 minutes, can't be done."

"Did he play himself out of the lineup from his game last game? No, he didn't... are we using a different lineup tonight because it's Vegas? Yeah."

He noted trying to match the physicality element of Vegas' fourth line as one of the reasons Gustafsson is in for Perfetti.
Perfetti shouldn't be scratched for more than a few games. If he continues to work hard, he should make his way back to the lineup quickly, and in time for the playoffs.
More to come.
