In a recent podcast interview, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman discussed the Winnipeg Jets and provided insight into the team's recent struggles.

This central division team is currently standing at eighth in the league overall, and third in their division. In all likelihood, this will result in them getting a spot in the playoffs. However, they have lost all three of their last games to teams who have performed worse than them throughout the season, causing Jets fans to have concerns about their chances at the Stanley Cup.
"They're very good when they stick to their structure and very bad when they don't. Other teams can sometimes recover from a breakdown from their structure but the Jets can't and he really notices this with them.

Gabe Vilardi being out has really affected team on PP and their offence. He's become a very valuable player for them, even with the acquisition of Tyler Toffoli.

He touched on Cole Perfetti breaking his slump with a late goal vs Islanders and he wondered if they should give him another one of the top two lines to try to give the team a jolt.

EF talked about the mixing of their lines near the end of the game when things go bad, but then they go back to original lines the next game. He said he wishes they would stick with the new line combos longer to see if it works."

Despite the opportunity for debate, Jets fans seem to agree with Friedman's assessment of the team's performance.

While many may have expected some disagreements on what Winnipeg is struggling with, it appears that most fans agree with the point Friedman made. With Gabe Vilardi still out for recovery, the team needs to focus even harder on staying organized.
The Jets will face the Edmonton Oilers tomorrow night, who currently stand tenth in the league. With a lot of dominant players on the ice, Winnipeg may want to take Friedman's and fans' comments to heart.
