A post on X from David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period confirmed that the Winnipeg Jets will have a significant scouting presence at the San Jose Sharks and Montreal Canadiens game.





With the NHL trade deadline fast approaching the movement and attendance of these scouts will mean more each day. This particular presence by the Jets has led rumors to pick up regarding a trade with the Montreal Canadiens.

Jets Scouts Could Be Eyeing Canadiens Veteran Center

One of the biggest needs for the Winnipeg Jets heading into this year's trade deadline is a second-line center. One of the teams that has a veteran center with second-line upside potentially available is the Montreal Canadiens.

Reports have circulated today that veteran center Sean Monahan will likely be on the move this trade deadline. The Canadiens have reportedly promised to send Monahan to a contender if their team was out of the playoff picture.



With Monahan likely to move and the Jets in need of a center of his caliber there's a good chance that this is who the scouts are there to see. As the trade deadline inches closer these rumors will only continue to be amplified until the Jets make a move for Monahan or otherwise.
