The Winnipeg Jets' future is looking bright, as their 2022 first-rounder (14th overall) is turning out to be a star. Rutger McGroarty, who currently plays for the University of Michigan, was just named Captain of the USA's World Junior Team.
McGroarty has appeared in 13 games this season for the Wolverines, scoring 6 goals and 12 assists for 18 points. McGroarty was previously injured this year, but will still be able to compete with USA.
For Jets fans, this is a great confirmation both that McGroarty is healthy, and they will get to see him shine over the holidays.
