Lowry has spent his entire 621-game career with the Jets proving to be a formidable shutdown player.
He was initially selected in the third round of the 2011 draft.
He beat out other viable candidates like Mark Scheifele and Josh Morrissey for the captaincy so it is clear that head coach Rick Bowness believes Lowry is the true leader in the Jets locker room.
