BREAKING: Capitals Extend Core Player Long Term

The Washington Capitals recently announced that they have extended power forward Tom Wilson with a massive contract.

The Capitals will be paying Wilson $6.5 million per year which is a raise over his current contract which is a touch over $5 million.

Although he struggled to stay healthy last year, he still produced at a solid pace scoring 13 goals and 22 points in 33 games.

He has spent his entire 680 NHL game career with Washington after being drafted by them in the first round of the 2012 draft.
