The Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins have had a brutal rivalry ever since Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin both entered the league. Today a new star was exposed to this rivalry.

Halfway through the first matchup between the Penguins and Capitals Alex Ovechkin decided to welcome Erik Karlsson to Pittsburgh and the rivalry that comes with the Capitals. He found Karlsson in open ice and laid a massive hit.
