The Edmonton Oilers brought forward Adam Erne to training camp on the PTO. There was no guarantee that he would earn a contract but Erne impressed and proved to be worth a contract which they have just signed.

Erne spent last season with the Red Wings playing in 61 games scoring 18 points along the way.

He will now slot in on the Oilers' fourth line as a defensive specialist who can contribute on the penalty kill.
