Today the Toronto Maple Leafs revealed a surprising new hire to the organization adding veteran defenseman Jake Muzzin to their player development staff.

The Toronto Maple Leafs held a session of their prospect development camp today. After selecting defenseman Ben Danford in the first round fans wondered who the team would bring in to mentor him.
That question was answered today after Ben Danford was seen working with former Maple Leafs defenseman Jake Muzzin according to reporter Mark Masters..

This is the first time we have seen Jake Muzzin since he stepped away from the Toronto Maple Leafs due to injury. It now seems he is moving into a coaching and front-office role with the team under GM Brad Treliving.

It remains to be seen how big of a role Jake Muzzin will have with the organization going forward. For the moment, he will work with prospects like Ben Danford to help bring their game along. Once training camp begins for the Toronto Maple Leafs, it will be interesting to see if Jake Muzzin takes the ice in a coaching role.
