Major Trade brewing between two Canadian teams involving key players

The Toronto Maple Leafs are in need of some major upgrades this season, and now, it appears only a matter of time until they make a deal with the Canadian rival Calgary Flames.

Last week after the matchup between Toronto and Calgary, Flames star Nikita Zadorov officially requested a trade publicly, and when doing so, his agent officially linked him to Toronto immediately.





Beyond that, they've now also been linked to another veteran blue liner in Chris Tanev, and it appears Toronto have now become the favourite to land both of them.

A potential trade is brewing, and one deal has been revealed

After looking at all the options, Sportsnet's Flames reporter Eric Francis revealed that Calgary could be targeting Nick Abruzzese, a former teammate of top prospect Matt Coronato.



Now, it appears there's a deal on the table between the two sides, with Toronto landing both veteran defeseman, with the Flames landing Abruzzese, Holmberg, two picks including the 2024 first-round pick as well as veteran John Klingberg on an expiring deal.



This deal seems to be the rare one where both teams come out happy with their return, and if it happens, it will be a major improvement for both sides.
