Insider Predicts Mitch Marner Could Seek More Money than Auston Matthews

David Pagnotta on Leafs Morning Take yesterday said that if Marner collects another 100 point season he could bargain for a bigger deal than Matthews.

With Matthews asking for $14 million on a max 5-year deal would you be willing to pay Marner more than that on a 5-year deal? Or would you want a full 8-year deal at that price.

Marner had 99 points in 80 games played this last season with his first 30 goal season of his career.

He was also point-per-game in the playoffs with 14 in 11 games.

Marner has been known for his playmaking ability with HC Sheldon Keefe even playing him on the top penalty kill unit for the past couple seasons.

The Ontario native has a career total of 554 points in 507 games played.
