The Tampa Bay Lightning are currently in a really rough spot in regards to their goaltending situation.

The Lightning's Lack of a Starting Goalie

I know what you might be thinking, the Lightning have one of the best goalies in the world, why do they need another goalie?
Well Andrei Vasilevskiy injured his back and underwent surgery to help repair the leg, he is expected to miss the first 8-10 weeks of the season.
Leaving the Lightning currently having a starting goalie of Jonas Johansson with Hugo Alnefelt as the backup option for the Bolts.
However two options have revealed themselves as potential options for the Lightning to acquire.

Two Potential Options For The Lightning

There are two potential options currently available that the Lightning might look to add, both of the teams that have these goalies are rich with goalie talent and may be willing to trade one of their goalies.

Option #1 Chris Driedger

First candidate is the Seattle Kraken's Chris Driedger. Although injuries have majorly affected his career his numbers still are good.
Before being sidelined by an injury last season, Dreidger had a .917% save percentage and a 2.45 goals against average.
In the current depth chart of the Seattle Kraken, Dreidger sits third behind Philipp Grubauer and Joey Daccord, so the Kraken may be forced to give up Dreidger.

Option #2 Antti Raanta

The second option that the Lightning might go acquire is the Carolina Hurricanes, Antti Raanta.
The 34-year-old goalie has been a good backup option for the Hurricanes posting a career save percentage of .918 and a 2.43 goals against average.
Raanta is second on the depth chart for the Hurricanes but young, exciting prospect Pyotr Kochetkov has looked NHL ready. The Canes may want to play their young goalie this season.
The Lightning seem to be weighing out the options, whether they are going to sign a free agent, trade for a goalie or use the waiver wires to pick up a part-time replacement for their injured star goalie.
