The Seattle Kraken have now made NHL history, as former Coachella Valley Firebirds coach Jessica Campbell joins the NHL in a full-time capacity.

After a fantastic run with the Coachella Valley Firebirds that saw them make back-to-back Calder Cup Finals, Jessica Campbell has made NHL history by becoming the first female full-time coach in the NHL.
BREAKING: The Seattle Kraken have hired Jessica Campbell as an assistant coach which makes her the first woman in NHL history to be behind the bench. #SeaKraken

After the PWHL took the hockey world by storm in 2023/24, this is another huge step forward for women in the sport, and with her experience on and off the ice, it's safe to say that this was well earned by Campbell.
The Seattle #Kraken have hired Jessica Campbell as their newest assistant coach, making her the very first woman in a full-time role on an NHL bench.

What an achievement for Jessica Campbell! 👏

The Seattle Kraken are looking to push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2024/25, so this hiring further cements the respect that Campbell has in the hockey world, and with many great female coaches out there, hopefully this continues to open the door for women in hockey.
