One of the Flyers' top prospects will be suspended for four months.

Fedotov Suspended For Four Months

The Ivan Fedotov saga has dragged out for years and has a massive update with the IIHF weighing in on the situation.
Today, the IIHF announced that they deemed Fedotov's contract with the Flyers a valid contract.

Because Fedotov decided to stay in Russia for next year, he violated his NHL contract and that comes with an international suspension.
- A four (4) month suspension on playing in official national and international games during playing periods. The suspension shall take effect on 1 September 2023 (first CSKA regular season game) and conclude on 31 December 2023.

Fedotov is quite an intriguing prospect standing at 6'8" and posting phenomenal numbers in the KHL and the Olympics.
In 2021-22, the last season he played, he registered a 2.00 GAA and a .919 sv% in the KHL but he stepped it up representing team Russia posting a 1.61 GAA and a .943 sv% during the Olympics.
We will now wait and see if he ever makes the move to come to the NHL.
