Elliotte Friedman recently brought to light a major oversight by the Ottawa Senators in a trade from last year.

The NHL seems to be on the Senators' tail lately. Not long after sidelining young star Shane Pinto for half the season, the league is gearing up to address another separate incident involving the team.

The trade that saw Evgeny Dadonov move from the Ottawa Senators to the Vegas Golden Knights has raised eyebrows. It appears there was something wrong in the Senators' trade process.
Friedman, during a segment on Hockey Night in Canada, stated,
"When [Vegas] acquired him from the Ottawa Senators, they were told that Dadonov had not submitted his trade request on time, so if Vegas wanted to move him, they could do whatever they needed to do," revealed Friedman on Hockey Night in Canada.

"That wasn't the case; he had submitted it," added Friedman. "The reason it's relevant now is because, sometime in the next few days, the NHL is going to announce some sort of punishment for the Senators for that situation."

"Sometime, I believe, in the next few days, the NHL will announce some sort of punishment for the Senators for that situation," Friedman said. "I think we're going to get a clear explanation of what happened and why Vegas wasn't at fault."
The NHL's impending decision connects to an attempted trade of Dadonov to the Ducks in 2022. The Senators failed to provide Dadonov's no-trade list, which incidentally included the Ducks.
What kind of punishment do you think the NHL will hand out to the Senators?
