Jacob Trouba Lands Dirty Slash to Trent Fredric's Head in Saturday's Game

If you missed the game Saturday or the video, on Saturday, Jacob Trouba landed a dirty and violent slash to the face of Trent Fredric. The slash appeared to be a full swing after Fredric engaged Trouba in some pushing after the whistle.

Must read on Hockey OTB

The NHL's Player Safety was quick to punish Trouba for the slash, issuing him a $5,000 fine for the violent move.
NY Rangers' Jacob Trouba has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for High-sticking Boston's Trent Frederic.

Many Think that the NHLPA Was Not Harsh Enough On the Slash

Fans and analysts quickly voiced their displeasure with the NHL's decision to only issue a fine for the slash. It was clearly an intentional action to slash Fredric in the head, and to many, they thought this was worth a suspension, including Ron MacLean and Kevin Bieksa, who had the following to say.
"That's unbelievable, how can that only be a $5,000 fine?" asked McLean during the broadcast.

"Jacob Trouba Fred Flintstone's Trent Frederic with a bit of a follow through," said Bieksa. "The Rangers won this game but we will probably be talking about the Trouba Fred Flintstone for a while.

Fans also took to social media to voice their displeasure with the NHLPA as well.
Trouba knows someone in that office man wow

Trouba swung his stick and whacked Frederic in the head, but if you look at the other angle, Trouba swung his stick and whacked Frederic in the head.
