Ever since the Edmonton Oilers limped out of the starting gate for the 2023-24 season, many have been wondering what GM Ken Holland intends to do about his goaltending issues. Many replacement for Jack Campbell have been suggested. One insider believes he has the answer.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Oilers don't see a trade as the best solution between the pipes. Holland would far prefer that Jack Campbell, who was recently sent to the minors, find his game again, and he's willing to offer help to make that happen.
After taking losses in his first three starts in the AHL, and not looking very good in the process, Campbell had a 30-save shutout win earlier this week. However, his record remains at 1-4-0, with a 0.884 save percentage and a goals against average of 3.22. Lots of work to do yet.
