The Montreal Canadiens announced right before the start of last night's game against the Calgary Flames that their head coach Martin St. Louis stepped away from the team for personal reasons.

Later, during an intermission interview, Habs' David Savard revealed that St. Louis had to go back home for something related to his son.
After the game, captain Nick Suzuki shared his thoughts on the situation.

Unfortunately, the Habs lost 5-2, with assistant-coach Trevor Letowski filling in for St. Louis.
Suzuki had this to say about St. Louis and how the game went down:
"It's obviously different with Marty not being here. We have a good group in here, lot of good coaches. It was business as usual. But obviously we're missing him and wishing for the best."

"There were moments when we were playing very well and others when it was lacking. You can't expect to win when you have so many ups and downs in a game. They had too many scoring chances. The game could have been different."

The Canadiens are currently on a five-game roadtrip out west. They will notably face the Avalanche, Oilers and Canucks, three of the best teams in the NHL right now. It won't be easy for the Habs to get points on that trip, but they'll try to leave it all on the ice for St. Louis and his son.
