According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Columbus Blue Jackets might be biding their time, curious to see how things shake out with Edmonton Oilers GM Ken Holland in, Alberta even though he's been driving the bus since 2019 as their GM and President of Hockey Ops.
Before his Oilers tenure, Holland was the mastermind behind the Detroit Red Wings, racking up three Stanley Cups, four President's trophies, and a jaw-dropping 789 wins. He even got inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2020.
Edmonton's been craving their first Stanley Cup win since 1990, and with superstars like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl hitting their prime, the pressure's on.
Some have even called for Holland's job if the Oilers don't win a cup this year, allowing the Blue Jackets will be ready to pounce. And if Holland indeed leaves Edmonton, nobody knows who would be next to take his place.
