With as inconsistent as their season has been thus far, it is no surprise that general manager Ken Holland would look to change up the Oiler's lineup ahead of the trade deadline. However, it seems some of their strategies have been revealed to the public.

Insider Leaks Reveal Oilers' Trade Deadline Plans

The Oilers have had some of the biggest highs and lows this season. They spent time towards the bottom of the league, turned it around in a shocking 16-game winning streak, and suffered numerous flops to lesser teams simply by embarrassing plays. This has brought about many questions on who will be benched and who will be traded. It was only yesterday when they announced they would not be trading Philip Broberg.
"The Oilers will NOT trade Philip Broberg for a rental, per Elliotte Friedman."
Shockingly today, a post on X reveals insider information about their true intentions come the trade deadline. They are allegedly planning to trade defensemen and some of the front lineup.
"I'm hearing defenseman and some depth up front #Oilers

#Tradedeadline #nhl"

Oilers Fans Speculate On Trade Specifics

Although this insider leak does not reveal the exact names Edmonton plans to trade, that has not stopped fans from speculating what their action will be. Followers of the Oilers have taken to X to post their ideas of who will stay and who will go.
"Here's 4 trades I can see the Oilers making at the deadline, and fit under the cap."
While this activity of guessing the new teammates can be entertaining, only time will tell which players will be traded. Currently at 11th in the league overall, Edmonton could certainly use a fresh lineup to launch themselves back into the elite teams of this season.
