Despite being a solid contributor this season with 5 goals and 5 assists in 27 games played, the Edmonton Oilers have now waived 2007 first-round draft pick Sam Gagner.



With the trade deadline just days away, this could signal a bigger move for the Oilers, or perhaps they simply believe they can find better options for their bottom-six, but either way, Gagner will be an interesting name to keep an eye on tomorrow when waiver claims are revealed.
