The Edmonton Oilers came into 2023-24 as a genuine Stanley Cup favourite in the Western Conference, but now after their slow start, they recognize that something big needs to change.
Connor Brown was one of their big moves this summer, but unfortunately, the veteran forward is yet to register a point, being relegated to the bottom-six in recent times, so now, they're left with more questions than answers.
After being tentatively linked to Patrick Kane over the summer, the Oilers are seemingly now in the race for Kane, who would not only bring Stanley Cup winning experience to a talented group, but would give them a proven star next to Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl.
At this point, there's seemingly at least 10 teams interested in Kane after his move to the Rangers a season ago, and while he's not the star he once was, he can still be very effective on the ice, and if he lands in Edmonton, it could change the landscape of the Western Conference.
