As the Edmonton Oilers' struggles continue, every hockey fan and their dog knows the first thing that needs to be addressed is the team's goaltending. With that in mind, an insider has created a list of the goalies he believes the Oilers should be targeting.
Reimer has been very good in his six games with Detroit this season, putting up some very good numbers. Allen has struggled, although that may be more due to the team he's playing for than the goaltender himself. Hart has been having a bit of a bounce back season so far, after some really up and down years since being drafted into the NHL. Vejmelka has a 2-6-2 record, but again, that may have more to do with the team he's playing for. Blackwood has not been looking good, going 2-9-1 on a good New Jersey Devils team.
After sending Jack Campbell to the minors, Edmonton called up Calvin Pickard, hoping he might spark the team. His first game was not great, as he let in five goals in an Oilers loss. Something has to give, and soon. If a goaltending replacement can't be found, GM Ken Holland may be looking for a new job.
