Bouchard Speaks For The Media For The First Time After Extending

Everybody knew that Bouchard's new deal would be a signing a bridge deal as the Oilers did not have the space to offer him a long-term deal.

Today Evan Bouchard had an interview with the Edmonton Media and gave some valuable insight into his contract situation and what is coming up.

"Two years, I think it's a good stepping stone, a good bridge. And, you know, I think in the next two years, the Oilers are going to be a real force out there. And, you know, I'm just looking to be a part of that." - Evan Bouchard

Some were worried that Bouchard would be signing a potential offer sheet but he made it clear he wanted Edmonton.

"I don't think I wanted to go anywhere. And, you know, once we got into talks, like I said, we've been close for a while. And I've been excited for a long time to get the signing done and look forward to staying there." - Evan Bouchard

"Yeah, I think it'll be great. It was very good for me and great for everyone else as well, not just myself. When someone has that big a part of the team and you get to have them for a full year, running this past year, I think it's going to help us grow." - Evan Bouchard on Mattias Ekholm
