While the Chicago Blackhawks won't be going to the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, there is concern after the absence of Nick Foligno from practice earlier this week. The team has addressed the alternate captain's absence, but not a lot of information has been given.
Meanwhile, Foligno was also out of the lineup for the Blackhawks game against the St. Louis Blues last night, leading to more questions about his whereabouts.
Hopefully, whatever is keeping Foligno away from the team isn't too serious and won't mean Foligno has to miss the final four games of the 2023-24 regular season. The 36-year-old has played in 70 games for Chicago this season, scoring 17 goals and 37 points. Foligno's current contract with Chicago is done at the end of this season. However, the veteran has already signed a two year extension to take him to the end of the 2025.26 season.
