The Chicago Blackhawks have been one of the most exciting teams to watch through the first two weeks of the NHL season, all due to 18-year old Connor Bedard, but now, the Blackhawks have seemingly demoted the young star.

A fantastic start, but not good enough?

Through six games, five of which have been on the road against tough competition (Pittsburgh, Toronto, Boston, Montreal and Colorado), Bedard has stepped up to the challenge, posting 2 goals and 2 assists for four points.
However, since the Taylor Hall injury, Bedard seemingly hasn't looked like a 1C at all times, and with the idea of potentially sheltering him from opponents top lines, Chicago have now demoted him to 2C.

Another rising star

In his place, Chicago have promoted Lucas Reichel along with the dynamic winger pair of Andreas Athanasiou and Taylor Raddysh to the top line, pushing Bedard, along with Nick Foligno and Tyler Johnson to the second line.
Fans have been quick to point out the lack of star power alongside Bedard, as many believe Reichel and Raddysh/Hall when he returns would be a much better duo next to Bedard, but for now, he's seemingly stuck with the veteran duo whether fans like it or not.
