The Flames have had a complicated season, currently trying to fight their way out of the bottom half of the league. Unfortunately for them, however, it seems they are also having difficulties keeping their own players.
Top Flames Defenseman Expected To Be Traded After Failed Contract Talks
After many failed attempts to renegotiate a contract, it has been confirmed that Noah Hanafin is set to be traded away from Calgary ahead of the trade deadline. This 27-year-old defenseman leaving the team could mean the end of the Flames and their chance at the Stanley Cup this season.
"After unsuccessful contract talks, Noah Hanifin is expected to be traded by Calgary before the deadline.
With Hanafin being traded out of Calgary, fans have taken to guessing where this player could end up next. Recently, Toronto had talks of a multi-team trade and it is suggested he may be part of this.
"Toronto Maple Leafs have traded in a multi team trade league wide, sources confirm.
Sounds like Toronto is adding D Colton Parayko (STL), D Noah Hanafin & Chris Tanev (CGY), F's Anthony Duclair (SJS), Jordan Eberle (SEA), Alexey Toropchenko & Oscar Sundqvist (STL)."
Whether or not this turns out to be the case is still in question. One thing, though, is for certain. This previous 5th overall draft pick would be an asset for whatever team he is on.
