BREAKING: NHL Announces Major Decision In The Future Of Milan Lucic

Milan Lucic was recently arrested for a domestic incident. After this he was placed on a leave of absence by the Boston Bruins. Today he had a court date where he was arraigned and charged.

Milan Lucic was arraigned in court earlier today. He pleaded not guilty to assaulting his wife and was released on his own recognizance. He can't drink alcohol. Here's the video of the arraignment, which is where the charge is read and a plea is entered.

With a plea of not guilty the legal proceedings will continue. After his court appearance, the NHL made its first major announcement regarding the situation. The league confirmed Lucic will enter the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.

The Player Assistance Program provides support to players dealing with mental health crises or substance abuse. With Lucic's arrest having alcohol allegedly involved this move makes sense. He will continue to be on indefinite leave from the Bruins.

Lucic's next court date is January 19th this will be the next opportunity for significant updates. For now, Lucic will go and get the help he needs while he continues along in the legal process.
